In Asia, Africa, Central and South America since ancient times people used many species of algae, which contain valuable nutrients. However, in Western countries this valuable product has been discovered relatively recently, but now the algae have been successfully applied in dietary supplements.
Spirulina loves warm, alkaline water. This alga contains many valuable nutrients. About 70% of its composition is easily digestible protein. In addition, spirulina contains B-vitamins, phytocyanines, chlorophyll, beta carotene (more than carrots), as well as vitamin E and some mineral substances.
Chlorella, like spirulina, lives in an alkaline environment.
